How will I know when my volunteer application is being considered?
As soon as you complete your registration, you are an active applicant in our system. However, you must complete each of the required items in My Checklist to ensure that your application is complete and receives consideration, even if you have volunteered in the past. My Checklist indicates which items are complete or still required.
How can I change my name, address or telephone number?
Click on My Profile to update your personal information. Make your changes and click Save at the bottom of the page to save changes you make. You can change this information at any time. The District asks that you keep your information current.
How long is my volunteer application kept on file?
Once your application is created it is maintained in our electronic online application system. An application is moved to an "inactive" status if it has not been updated within the past twelve (12) months. Your application is considered updated any time you update information and/or complete a requirement.
How will I be notified if I am approved to be a volunteer?
You will be sent an email letting you know that your application has been accepted and approved. Depending on your email settings you may need to check your spam or junk folders. If you have not heard anything within ten (10) days you can email us at
volunteers@rsd.edu
.
Why do you require a copy of my valid Driver's License?
We require a valid driver’s license in order to run a background check on all volunteers. Other forms of acceptable i.d. include current passport or state-issued i.d. card.
How long does a volunteer approval last and am I approved for next year too?
Volunteer approval is valid for the current school year. You will need to re-visit your application and complete any new requirements in order to be approved for the next school year.
I am an approved volunteer. Does that mean that I can drive students to/from events?
Volunteer drivers must complete additional paperwork and submit proof of current auto insurance coverage. A link to the Driver's Form is located on our home page.
I have had some trouble in the past. Does that mean I can't be approved to volunteer?
Not necessarily. Each application is taken on a case by case basis. It is important to be completely honest and forthcoming.
